It is my honor and privilege to share that the legacy of Just Dinner on Dunlavy will complete on December 31, 2018.
Andrew and Lisa Rebori opened Just Dinner on February 7, 2007. After 20 years in the Houston restaurant business, it was Andrew’s vision to have a human-scaled restaurant. Just Dinner became a place where you were sure to be greeted with a kiss and a smile from Andrew. Andrew’s exuberance and enthusiasm were magical, and his love for life, cooking and affection for those around him was genuine and heart-felt.
When I first walked into Just Dinner through the back door, I said, “Oh my God it’s so beautiful, I love it, I want it.”
By God’s grace and Andrew’s love and trust for me, four years later I got what I wanted. On August 1, 2011, I became sole proprietor of Just Dinner on Dunlavy.
I have had the privilege of working with extraordinarily talented people over the years. I am grateful to have learned from every single person with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
At the heart of Just Dinner are its most enthusiastically loving guest. I know this must be due to the foundation of love, grace, and hospitality that Andrew created. Andrew taught me that life is about relationships. He taught me to love, have fun and not take life too seriously, to appreciate people often, and to drink wine and share stories with your guest. It is because of you, the Houston community, the out of town guest, that these years were made so rewarding.
Andrew’s widow, Lisa Rebori, has been quietly supporting Just Dinner on Dunlavy since his passing in 2011. It is in partnership with her that we have extended the lease of 1915 Dunlavy to its completion. I am so grateful to have been in partnership with someone that cared to see me and JDOD succeed.
Let 2018 be a year of celebration and love. Come and spend your special occasions with us, bring your friends and family. Let us show you love through our food and hospitality. Let us share memories and cheers to Just Dinner on Dunlavy!
